Ciocia Bogusia's Visit

Jack's Birthday is coming up on Thursday! I can't believe he is already going to be a year old! From the past we have learned that if he get's to many gifts at once he has no interest in them, so we recieved a package from great- grandpa the other day and have been opening one package a day. The first items were these cute soft balls, Jack loved taking them in and out of the box.

This past weekend my Aunt Bogusia from Washington was able to come and visit us. On Saturday we were able to take a stroll in the Thanksgiving Point Gardens, have a lovely lunch at the Trellis Cafe up there, and then splash around in the Children's Garden. They had a fun Noah's Arc pond area as well as a lighthouse and tunnels for kids to run through. We had a blast, although the heat did get to us a bit.

On Sunday, we all loaded up in the car and drove to the high Uintas to hike around Mirror Lake. (Not without adventure at the beginning of the trip), my car started over heating because it turns out that I didn't have any coolant (I should really take better care and check my fluids, etc. I tell myself this everytime something happens to the car.) Then something started to smell, and it turned out my CV Boot had cracked, still not 100% sure what this is, besides that it has something to do with the axel. Anyhow, fun time at the car garage coming up! Luckily, this all happened when we were picking up Mom and Bogusia, so we switched cars, unluckily, my poor mom got very car sick on the way to pick up the Jeep.

To our surprise, we had never gone up to Mirror Lake so early in the year, and the drive down was still snow packed. The whole trail was also snow packed, so mom and Bogusia ended up exploring the area around the lake while Stephen, Jack, the dogs and I trekked our way through the snow and streams. All of us had a really good time.

First Attempt At A Blog

I have always loved looking at everyones blogs and wanted to do one myself. I have friends that say this is the way they do scrapbooking since there is no time to do scrapbooking, and I love the idea. So here is my attempt to officially step into the world of blogging.

Stephen and I just celebrated our third anniversary yesterday! Yeahy! I can't believe how fast the time has flown by! We decided to have a fun family outing and went to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. It was so fun watching Jack get excited about everything! We let him run wild, and that he did. He discovered tunnels, wheels, rocks to touch, he loved looking at the dinosaur skeletons through the glass, and everytime something was not enclosed, he tried getting to it before daddy could catch him. Afterwards we had dinner at the GoodWood BBQ restaurant, the smell was so enticing and the food so good, I'm still stuffed!
Stephen, Jack and I beginning our adventure at the Dinosaur Museum. Jack had been running in and out of this cave for a good ten minutes when a passer by asked if she could take a picture for us.

'Did you guys see all the dino's down there?'

Jack found a table of boxes and fossils, this was so neat, we found a back scratcher and everything. And he could throw in the fossils from one bucket to the next.

Jack wasn't quite as excited by the sand and water as I thought he would be. But he did like watching the other kids play in the water

Jack riding the triceratops- this was so exciting for him, he could hug and pat and climb all over this big 'doggy' with out it running away. We found a new best friend:)

Stephen throwing Jack into the Jaws of Death after we had been chasing him off the rocks for the better part of an hour:)

Stephen and Jack uncovering fossils in the digging area at the end of the museum. Jack figured out so quickly exactly what he was supposed to do with those brushes! First he had to brush his hair with them, but after daddy showed him that you can dig than he was all over it. He is holding two brushes because he stole Stephen's first one.

Summer Fun

Our little guy dreams of being Harry Potter. He runs into the broom closet every chance he gets to snatch my broom. So finally his Babunia (my mom) gave him a broom for his name day. He loves sweeping through the whole house with it. If we're not careful he's going to fly away on us:)
This spring and summer we have been very busy updating some items at our house. Here is Jack helping us paint the guest bedroom.

We don't really try to keep our child in a cage. Stephen was assembling a new crate (that lasted a full 30 minutes constaining our lovable Boston Terrier, Chase) Jack was dad's big helper the whole time, he still loves getting in there with some of his toys or a book and opening and closing the doors.
After a long day of playing the little guy crashes with his buddy Junior.

Sundance had their annual Children's Festival on Saturday, June 14th. This was a great opportunity for Stephen to show his son how the fire truck works and what the best way of getting out of a truck is after a long call:) They also had a petting zoo with baby animals there. Jack had such a blast! We really had to pull him back from hugging the baby lama, there was also a pony, a lamb and a baby goat that tried very hard to eat Stephen's keys.

Jack and his cousin Gavin get to hang out a lot, they both love the water, especially on a hot summer day, Gavin just enjoys splashing in the kiddie pool while Jack likes to hose down the big belly:)

Jack chillin' out on his blanket in the yard

Big belly playing with the water hose, loves it so much more than the swimming pool!

Gavin wondering why is Jack not sharing the hose?
